All in Mindfulness

In Remembrance Of | Honoring Those We've Lost

Memorial Day is a special day! It’s a day of remembrance for all the men and women who died while serving in the military. Today’s episode is about the power of remembrance and how important people from our lives, not only shape us, but can continue to guide us. In this episode I’ll take you through a perspective taking, values-facing exercise to connect with people who've touched our lives.

The Problem with Toxic Positivity

Good Vibes Only - is a saying and a belief that, "life can only be lived well by having good feelings." Unfortunately, living by this strategy makes people feel worse off in the long run. What if the problem of painful emotions and difficult thoughts you experience isn’t actually the problem? Toxic Positivity is a strategy we all mindlessly engage in from time to time. It's a stance of non-acceptance and inflexibility toward life.

Tune into this weeks episode to learn how to live the good life. To begin “holding” our unpleasant emotions – to gently observe and contact them without any effort to make them come or go. And despite what feels unpleasant inside, make flexible choices that are consistent with your personal values and chosen life directions.

Quarantine Questions | 25 Prompts for Self-Reflection

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Sometimes we don't know what questions we should be asking ourselves? We leave it to the mind to help us get by. And when has that ever gone awry? Jokes aside, slowing down to ask ourselves the larger questions is often avoided.

Considering the "bigger questions" can help us begin to regain some control in life. To guide your journey along, I’ve compiled a list of 25 questions to help your self-reflection within – to disrupt and decondition the unhelpful patterns that have kept you entangled in stress and other unpleasant emotions. The following 25 "Quarantine Questions" are intended to help you open up to the present moment, get in contact with a deeper sense of self, and move past needless reason-giving. They're an invitation to change your behaviors in a way that’s in line with what matters to you.

AT EASE: Mindfulness Framework | Mental Health Awareness Month

To honor Mental Health Awareness Month, I'll be sharing different insights and approaches to help you cultivate greater mental and emotional awareness. Because it's not what we think and feel that's necessarily troublesome, it's how we relate to what we think and feel.

In this week's episode I talk about the importance of incorporating mindfulness into our day-to-day life, and offer you a framework to practice bringing a conscious awareness to your experience.
